The Master of Arts in Theology and Interdisciplinary Studies MA(TIS) covers broad-based training and is designed for students looking to deepen their theological learning.
Students will learn to nurture themselves and others in Christlikeness to live out their calling in the Church and the marketplace.
MA(TIS) graduates will be competent in engaging Scripture, Christian Tradition (including Spiritual Discernment) and Interdisciplinary Studies.
The MA(TIS) is right for you if:

Programme Fees
MA(TIS) Full Programme Fee: S$9,225
3 Credit Course Fee: S$450 (Credit) | S$240 (Audit)
1.5 Credit Course Fee: S$225 (Credit) | S$120 (Audit)
** For CS102 course, as each student shall receive one-on-one mentoring from a Spiritual Director, the fee for this 1.5 Cr course is S$450.
Minimum Qualifications
- A BGST Certificate or BGST Graduate Diploma with a minimum average grade of B minus (B-).
- A Bachelor degree from a recognized institution or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Those who do not possess a first degree may take a BGST class for audit or credit before deciding to enter into a programme.
Admissions Pre-requisites
- Applicants who have done previous biblical or theological studies may be able to apply for credit transfers or obtain advance standing. Approval for such applications will be at the discretion of BGST.
- Consideration of the personal and spiritual aspects of the applicant.

- Computer-based = 213 points
- Internet-based = 78 points
- IELTS Required Score: 6

Graduation Requirements
To be eligible to graduate with a MA(TIS), a student must have
- Submitted a completed Application for Graduation form to the Registrar’s Office by March 31st of the year they wish to graduate in.
- Satisfactorily completed all requirements (60 Credits) for the programme by April 30th of the year they wish to graduate in.
- Attained a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0
- No outstanding payments to BGST
Existing Master in Christian Studies (MCS) Students
BGST has transitioned its MCS Programme to its MA(TIS) Programme. As such, existing MCS students may continue with their MCS programme, or switch over to the MA(TIS) programme.
- Should students choose to remain, all courses required for the MCS will continue to be offered.
- Should students choose to switch, credits of all MCS courses completed to date will be carried over to the new programme. (No additional fees will be charged for the change).
Continuing Onto Other BGST Programmes
Upon successful completion of MCS / MA(TIS), students would have completed two-thirds of the requirements for MDiv. MCS or MA(TIS) credits earned are entirely transferable to the MDiv Programmes. MCS/MA(TIS) students can continue onto the MDiv Programme by meeting the remaining one-third requirements (30 Credits).
