TS/ID253Ethical Issues in Asia
TS/ID253 : Ethical Issues in Asia (1.5 Credit)
Academic Year : AY 2019-2020 Sem 1
About this course
Ethical issues arise today’s world as a result of the rapid and far-reaching changes caused by movements like globalization, and the increased sophistication and pervasiveness of technology in all of life. Issues arise for Christians because our values are at variance with the world’s. Thus, Christians need a theological framework which can guide thought and action and develop Christian character.
This course provides a framework within which Christians can make moral choices especially for ethical issues such as those related to the beginning and end of life, citizenship and engaging with society, sexuality, marriage and family, wealth and poverty.
Students may take TS252 (Christian Ethics, 3 credits) in lieu of TS253 by completing additional assignments. They will watch recorded video lectures by Dr Jeff Greenman, and do a research paper on the ethical issues surrounding Artificial Intelligence.
