Issue No. 36

Biblical GRADUATE school of theology

BGST This Week

Introducing one of our MTh

(Master in Theology) students …

A year after the completion of his high school education, Immanuel pursued his theological education in Bharat Bible College, in Hyderabad where he enrolled in the 4-year B.Th programme in 1996. It was during this time that he was convicted of his sinful life and received Jesus into his life during an annual fasting prayer meeting held in his church in December that year. He was subsequently baptized by his father on 31st December 1996.

At the age of sixteen then, he began to preach. Being a musician and percussionist, God started using him in the singing and preaching ministry in church as well as among the youth. He subsequently extended another year of theological training to complete the B.D (Bachelor of Divinity) in 2001.

Being greatly involved in church ministry by then, he thought it was the end of his theological journey … until June 2006 when Immanuel met Dr. Quek in India who introduced BGST to him, as well as Dr. Augustine Pagolu, another BGST faculty, whom he had known before – both of whom were instrumental in bringing him to Singapore to pursue the MTh programme under a scholarship scheme.

Since his arrival in Singapore, God has opened doors for him to serve locally in the music and preaching ministries.

From Immanuel:

“I strongly say that I am coming closer to God through all the situations in my life here in Singapore.  I am learning to have faith in God and I understand Jesus more personally than ever before.

I am also thankful to BGST for their help in our academics. The love and care that BGST shows to me in all matters, to all foreign students, is appreciable. This is a practical lesson for me to put into practice in my ministry.

After my studies I'll go back to India and happily serve the Lord.

It is my prayer to our readers to trust in God in every situation and be faithful to Him. Jesus never fails! Know and believe this. God bless you!”

Dinner 2007

What is a dinner without dinner guests? How to find the guests unless God provide us the 48 co-hosts? Let each and everyone of us besiege God in one heart and mind to ask God to raise us the co-hosts. Pray for willing hearts and minds for them to be passionate about our cause so that they will take up this challenge. Challenging it is, & daunting! Not for the faint-hearted but only those willing to keep running for the Lord! Still, GOD alone is the DISPENSER! So let's use this privilege we have of our immediate access to THE ALMIGHTY ONE and PRAY PRAY PRAY! Pray also for publicity flyer and invitation cards to be ready for distribution. Pray for the DOC to continue to have wisdom to pull together the act. LET'S PRAY AS ONE!

(end note: henceforth, this will be a weekly request till D-day 9 Nov. If any of you want to contribute more than just pray, do drop me a note (tanch@bgst.edu.sg). I'll be happy to hear from you and to receive much needed support. Thank you!)
