O35 / 9

This painting on paper made of papyrus plant  was acquired in Mar 2008. It is exhibited on the 2nd floor of the Egyptian Museum.

King Tut and his beloved girlfriend, is considered to be the first known LOVE STORY painting through the ancient Egyptian history. The lady later became his wife. In the ancient times, the girl couldn't tell her lover openly that she had fallen in love with him, she was too shy to express her feeling in words.

The solution, is she will offer him Lotus flowers (the symbol of love and happiness). If her lover accepts her flowers, then the feeling is mutual. The wedding ceremony thus will be the bride offering the groom lotus flowers and he will touch her flowers to confirm that they will live forever in love and happiness.
