About 2,800 years old Oil Lamp

Such lamp was used from the time of Solomon until the capture of Judah by the Babylonians. It is about 2,800 years old and represents a new development in the history of the Biblical lamp. It is shaped as a shallow bowl, small, and sits on a thick, high disc base of coarse manufacture. The rim is thick and flares outward with a pronounced lip. The spout is pinched and pressed downward. it is buff, red burnished and heavily encrusted with traces of soot.

Note : The bigger lamp is no.5 ( 5 x 13 cm. diameter) and the smaller one is no.5b (4 x 7 cm. diameter).
