A Herodian lamp, about 2,000 years old. It is made of buff clay mixed
with red slip. The ridge surrounding the filling hole is high and
is chipped. Also the mouth is large and the nozzle, which was added to
the wheel-made body is joined without an attempt to smothen out the surface.
The outward curve is more pronouned and the edge is curved rather than
having a straight line. The base is uneven and has serated, parallel lines
cut into it. There are traces of soot at the nozzle.
