NEWS FROM THE PETERS’

Dear BGST Family,

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Before we continue further, I must apologize for not having written to you earlier. Time has passed by…(it’s been four years!) since we left the island of books, research papers, lectures etc… and food of course!

We are presently serving at Grace Bible College Jamshedpur at various levels. Sonali is serving in the children’s department and oversees the Day Care Centre. She is responsible for 50 children who come to the centre and stay for about 12 hours! During this time she looks into their physical, academic and spiritual needs. It’s a task that requires a lot of dedication and I must confess that she has helped the society (GBCJ) to see the BIG picture of winning them to Christ. We praise God that her ministry with the children has also opened a new area of service to the mothers.  She now takes a weekly Bible study session with non-Christians mothers.

I am presently serving as the Principal and Director of the College. It is a responsibility that I find at most times to be bigger than me. Other than my regular teaching schedules I oversee the church planting and the Day care ministry which keeps me away from home at week ends. We praise and thank God for sustaining us through difficult times. I must say at times we do feel a bit more stretched than usual. But the Lord has been good to us ! At this juncture, I am spending more time in trying to put things in order for better work efficiency.  By the grace of God, I now have a proper office from where I get most of my administrative stuffs done (a luxury which the founder never had!!). We, as a school are now looking forward to introduce new programmes in our curriculum. On the church planting front, I am working with a team of 17 missionaries. We are mainly working in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand. These states are tribal in nature. Our evangelists are concentrating in the Santhali belt.

With the little time that is left… Janet our 3 year old keeps us busy. We praise God for her. Our parents are doing fine. My father continues to teach in the college, and is also busy doing some farming… (we recently bought a piece of land!)

Before I close, I take this opportunity to thank you for bearing with us during our stay at Singapore. BGST has enabled us to be sincere servants of God. I thank our mentors who have taught us both in classrooms and otherwise, valuable lessons on Christian living. May the Lord bless every family member of  BGST.

Please do continue to remember us in your prayers and if you wish to get the college newsletter then please let us know at gbcj@satyam.net.in

 Because He Lives,

Cecil, Sonali & Janet
