GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Field Education is a two-year course of supervised training which carries a value of 6 credits. It is required of all M Div students. It may be broken into two periods of one year each.
2. Students will work closely with the Field Director, who supervises their training and gives them whatever help may be necessary to equip them for the practical aspects of the Christian Ministry.
3. Students normally begin Field Education in the second year of their studies at BGST during a three-year M Div. Programme. The exceptions for this follow:
(a) Students who come to BGST with previous theological training and with a established pastoral or lay ministry record, may begin Field Education during the first year of the study programme;
(b) Part-time students in no hurry to finish their programme may begin their Field Education at the commencement of their studies at BGST or later than the second year, provided they fulfil the time investment given below.
4. Dr Quek is assisted in this course by two other Course Directors, Rev Ng Seng Chuan and Dr John Lim, who are in charge of the Pastoral Ministry Track. Dr Quek is in charge of the Lay Ministry Track.
